Morten Schuldt-Jensen

Morten Schuldt-Jensen is a Danish conductor, professor and internationally recognised specialist in choral and orchestral music. He studied conducting, singing and musicology at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the University of Copenhagen. Since 2006 he has been Professor of Choral and Orchestral Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Germany. From 1999 to 2006 he served as Chief Director of the Choral Department at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, where he founded the internationally acclaimed Gewandhaus Chamber Choir, today known as the Immortal Bach Ensemble. He has worked with leading European ensembles including the RIAS Kammerchor, MDR Rundfunkchor, SWR Vokalensemble and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. Morten Schuldt-Jensen is also the artistic leader of the Danish choir Sokkelund Sangkor and is widely respected for his work in Nordic and European choral culture, combining artistic excellence, conducting pedagogy and international collaboration.
